Keep
your computer room free of dust
and smoke. Accumulations of dirt
and grime can cause many problems
such as overheating, jumping of
mouse and even system failure. |
| |
|

|
Clean
your system casing, monitor, keyboard,
mouse and motherboard regularly
with a soft lint-free swab dampened
with diluted computer cleaning liquid.
Clear the clogged air vents on the
casing. Dust monitor thoroughly.
Blow out dirt from between keys
of your keyboard. Remove the mouse
ball from the underside and scrape
off accumulated grime from the cavity.
Remove the casing and clean dust
and webs from the motherboard. |
|

|
For
your laptop, disconnect the AC power
and remove the battery pack before
cleaning. Wipe using a soft lint-free
swab dampened with computer cleaning
liquid diluted with a few drops
of warm water. Take care that you
remove extra moisture with a dry
cloth. |
|

|
Do not
expose your computer to liquids,
moisture or rain droplets. Do not
place it on uneven or unstable work
surfaces. If the casing is damaged,
replace it immediately. |
|

|
Keep
your computer away from electrical
and magnetic fields. Also, keep
it away from high temperatures and
direct sunlight. Do not expose to
extreme temperatures i.e. below
0 degrees and above 50 degree Centigrade.
If your laptop is exposed to extreme
temperatures, it may not boot and
the battery may get damaged. |
|

|
Do not
use your laptop as a tabletop to
place things. Do not press or touch
the display panel and do not shove
any foreign objects into your laptop.
This may lead to scratches and malfunctioning. |
|

|
While
transporting your computer, disconnect
all cables and pack it in custom-made
packages. Movements may break or
cause damage to components. |
|

|
While
transporting your laptop, turn the
laptop off and disconnect all external
peripherals to prevent damage to
the connectors. When the laptop
is switched off, the hard disk drive's
head retracts, thus preventing scratching
on the hard disk surface. Also,
make sure that the floppy drive
does not have a diskette during
transportation. |
|

|
Take
care of your laptop batteries. Keep
your laptop plugged into the mains
as often as possible. If using laptop
on battery, charge it up as soon
as possible to keep the battery
topped up. Don't wait for your laptop
to switch off or warn about low
battery. Also, keep it away from
heat. |

Also, service your computer regularly
to keep it running efficiently for
long. |
